The PMIFC Chapter Meeting on the 27th March 2017, the second ever English language meeting was a resounding success. Venkat Rao, Vice President, Members opened the meeting with a short round up of the chapter activities including the efforts initiated by PMI chapters in Germany to get Project Management officially recognized as a Profession by the German Government.

The first speaker of the evening, Manoj Phatak, Senior Instructor, TwentyEighty Strategic Execution conducted an interactive workshop focused on capturing the real requirements of the customer using various methods like observation, interviews and workshops. By means of a participative game involving the building of a human traceability Matrix, Manoj convincingly demonstrated the importance of tracing the requirements to the business need and stakeholder benefis. Rainer Wendt, Managing Director of masVenta Business GmbH presented a very lucid comparison of Agile and Waterfall including practical examples for their application. He provided useful insights into the benefits and pitfalls of both methods and showed why adapting a practical hybrid approach deploying agile practices in a waterfall environment yields the best benefits.
