18:15 "Project Management meets the behavioural sciences!" by Jodi Wilson Director of Business Psychology Solutions, LLC and Josh E. Ramirez, Adjunct Professor of Project Management, Columbia Basin College

The project management discipline has focused for decades on the technical processes associated with managing projects (impacting about 30% of performance). However, Project Management is engaging in a paradigm shift. A revamping of how we think and conduct ourselves as professionals in the discipline. The new paradigm is called Behavioral Project Management, an embedding of the behavioral sciences into project management processes. BPM addresses the human factors involved in planning, execution and closing projects (impacting about 70% of performance). This presentation gives a brief introduction to the concepts of BPM, supported by several years of empirical research and numerous studies conducted over the last few decades.
